Our Vision
Founded in late 2008 by a
team of visionary scientists and an entrepreneur-in-residence at the Severino
Center for Technological Entrepreneurship, we have evolved our own commercial
technology platform driven by a creative founding chief technology officer and
built a sizeable patent portfolio of our own.
We founded the company on the vision of roll to
roll print production of scalable, flexible, structural sheets of energy
storage material. By producing both battery and supercapacitor (energy and
power) material on the same high volume print production line, we envision cost
savings and packaging efficiencies for creating the optimal energy and power
management solution in one package.
A breakthrough
architecture and design that reduces individual device packaging needs while
maintaining functionality, also brings strength in an integrated device build.
Thus, multi-functional materials that can be used for both structural load
bearing and energy storage can result in weight, volume and cost savings. The
company is committed to making devices that are environmentally friendly and
can be manufactured at scale in the USA.
This novel approach opens
a new path to large markets starting from computing, renewable energy and portable
consumer electronic and wireless sensors.
For applications in the
electronics markets, the market game changer is integration of the technology
directly into or as printed circuit board layers, reducing component count and
revolutionizing power distribution and management in a broad array of
electronics products. The next stage of growth will be driven by scale
production to large format performance laminates, energy wraps as structural
elements, like solar energy array backplanes to hybrid vehicle panels.
